Am still thinking about doing some traveling this August. Anyone have any good ideas where? Am not really all that into beaches. I like museums and historical monuments and friendly people.

A friend of mine suggested I go to Lappland, but... no. Just no.

Ooo! Places that start with V! I like the idea. Hmmm... Except that they speak Italian in Venice. And it's supposed to be smelly there. And Austria.... I suppose I could wander around and dream about the BoB guys. :D

Britain, obviously. *Bath*. If you didn't go there before, that is. And OMG Portmeirion, Wales. Definitely. Wales in general--it's gorgeous.

Let me second Venice here. It's absolutely lovely, and you won't run out of things to see. Also, should you get tired of the city, there are many interesting places to visit suitable for day trips, like Verona, Ravenna and Padoa. There are some drawbacks, though, like it's really crowded in Venice in August, it's expensive and fewer people speak English that what you might think. But other than that, very, very pretty.
