Stole the idea form [livejournal.com profile] snowgrouse, who apparently got it from someone else.

Heh.

The weird 2003 survey.

1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?

I can't think of anything, really. Hmm... Nope. Unless you count traveling abroad alone.

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don't make resolutions.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

Yes. Riikka has a bouncing baby boy. A few colleagues have daughters. Poor bastards.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

No. Praise the Goddess!

5. What countries did you visit?

England and Sweden.

6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?

Hum... If I say hot sex, will everyone think I'm a sad bastard? Peace of mind and true love.

7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

August 3rd. The day I waited for over 19 months. :D That's when I saw WB again and we went to London.

8. What was your biggest achievement of this year?

It was to learn to love within the bounds of my profession. Managing to stay off goodies for the whole year. Yay me!

9. What was your biggest failure?

Not managing to lose all that much weight. Also, not being able to just walk away from things and people who cause nothing but pain and suffering.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

No. Praise the Lady.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Hmmm... I could make a list, I guess... I bought a lot of junk and such. I'd say it's the London book I bought last winter. It was a very good guide when we went to England.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?

Oh, there are so many. Probably most of the people I call friends.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?

I can't really answer this completely honestly, since... Anyway. Aside from that, I'd have to say that Riikka's and Mia's. Nothing new there. People who treat you like crap but still claim to love you are just... You know.

14. Where did most of your money go?

Junk. Gods, I bought so much junk this year. The Glamdring, brooches, books, DVDs... Also the London trip. But I don't regret any of it!

15. What did you get really, really excited about?

The trip. Seeing WB again. TTT EE. RotK.

16. What songs will always remind you of 2003?

Sting and Cheb Mami's Desert Rose. Annie Lennox's Into the West. To think of the two biggest ones. There are probably more.

LOL And let's not forget the High Hopes! whoops there goes another rubber tree plant!

17. Compared to this time last year,
i. are you happier or sadder?

I think I'm happier. Was depressed last December. Even with the sadness of RotK, I'm feeling fine right now. Gah. I'm a sad sad bastard...

ii. thinner or fatter

:D Thinner!

iii. richer or poorer?

Richer in so many ways.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

Exercising. Writing. Having courage to really tell people I care.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Worrying. Eating. Wallowing in dark thoughts.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

Working.

22. Did you fall in love in 2003?

No. I did not.

23. How many one night stands?

I don't do one night stands. At least never have.

24. What was your favourite TV programme?

Of all times? RoS and B5. Of those still running, I'd say CSI, CSIMiami, Angel and TWW until this latest season (it's UTTER CRAP!)

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

No. I still hate those I hated then. To me, hate is a strong word. I really only hate two people and probably always will. So there.

26. What was the best book you read?

I read so few books these days... I'd have to say it's the Changeover by Margaret Mahy.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Joseph Lo Duca's soundtracks. Surprisingly the fact that I actually like Christina Aguilera. J. Karjalainen's Myrskypaasky.

28. What did you want and get?

Friendship and kisses. :D

29. What did you want and not get?

Oh gods. I could write a looong list that would leave me sad. So am not going to think about this.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?

Hmmm.... TTT EE. Definitely. PotC.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

Probably brooded. I don't deal with b-days well, since my biggest feeling is always 'gods I'm old and another year wasted'. 27 years. Gods, I'm old...

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

Love. The kind of love that probably only exists in dreams and songs.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?

Hmmm.... Comfortable. From weird colors to ones that actually suit me. From pretty and stylish clothes to ones that keep me warm no matter how stupid they look.

34. What kept you sane?

Nothing. I am quite insane and admit it freely. But out of complete madness... Slashers. Writing. My cats. Sleeping. Dreaming.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Eep eep eep! I sound like a teenager... Um... whispers Orlando Bloom. At least until he opened his mouth. :D

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

The war.

37. Who did you miss?

The one I will miss until the day I die and meet him again.

38. Who was the best new person you met?

Did I meet anyone new? Mark? Did we meet this year? If so, it's Mark. If not, I'll have to say... I have absolutely no idea. Sorry.

Also! Ross! The british gent who called me cheeky!

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003

Sometimes dreams are the only real thing you have.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year

It's been a long road, getting from there to here... :P
