Jul. 24th, 2003 11:51 pmWent to see Bruce Allmighty with Mia.
So the movie had good parts. Lots of laughs, some subtle and lots of not so subtle Christian gags. The way Bruce poured water from the pitcher and got wine on his glass was funny.
Also loved the idea of god looking like Morgan Freeman. I bet there are lots of angry rednecks running around, seething right now.
Hah!
Anyway, I didn't really like the movie, though. It was stupid and cliched. The main character was WAY too self centered to be likable, and the way he changed in the end was so damn boring.
I'd call the movie cute. And that's not good in my book.
Have tomorrow off. That's a good thing. Should clean. That's a bad thing.
Also, have to go shopping. The new Eddings book has arrived. Will try to save it to the airplane, but I bet I'll end up reading it tomorrow. I can't help it. I usually just love Eddings' books. Let's not mention the second half of Althalus, k?
Read today that Anni Polva died. I used to love the Tiina books when I was a kid. Tiina and Astrid Lindgren's awesome female characters like Ronja and Pippi Longstocking were really good role models for me. Strong girls. Real girl power with a big can of whoop-ass instead of all the damn barbielike anorexics they show to girls these days. And why the hell are all those princesses waiting for the princes to save them anyway? Like Rapunzel was such an idiot she didn't think of cutting her hair and climbing down?
Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
:P
jumps off the soap box, and thinks about her fav authors with a smile

Date: 2003-07-24 07:06 pm (UTC)Saw a porn version of Rapunzel the other night. It was crap. No hair fetish, no proper anal fucking. And that Rapunzel had platinum blonde bleached hair. Blah. Prefer the old illustrations where it was golden red>:)...

Date: 2003-07-26 09:00 am (UTC)It's a bit muggy over here at the moment: warm & humid with the odd bit of drizzle.
"And why the hell are all those princesses waiting for the princes to save them anyway?"
Indeed. They should wait for princesses instead.
Now that's a story *I'd* like to read... ; )
