Feb. 9th, 2008 02:50 amHmmm... What to do at night when you can't sleep?
Read comments for Hot Fuzz at play.com!
This is absolutely hilarious! People whine about the movie not being as good as the other one from the same team, whatsitsname... Sean of the Dead, Shawn of the Dead and Shawun of the Dead were among the suggested titles. Then there was a rant about Bad British Acting, and the lack of sophistication in a parody/comedy/homage movie. Okay.
And if you're not typing a text message what the hell is it with spelling things like U R not capabl of writing 4 real? *stabs*
My absolute favorite of course was the part where someone called the acting appalling, saying that only Timothy Dalton and Anne Reid rocked. Er... Yeah. Not that they didn't, but....
Anyway, back to reading. Should probably try to find some good fic again...

Date: 2008-02-09 11:38 am (UTC)Actually Shaun of the Dead is better movie than Hot Fuzz. Just like Sixth Sense is better movie than Unbreakable. But just because they're that little bit better put together doesn't mean that the other movie is somehow substandard or that the director/producers are all gone round the bend. This annoys me damn much. It's a whole different movie that should be judged against movies from the same genre.
Grrr.
...the way some people can watch a two hour movie and just miss the whole point? Unbelievable.
I'm not saying anything about that text message typing because I might just explode.

Date: 2008-02-09 01:32 pm (UTC)M. Night Shyamalan is a good example; he makes movies in his own genre, but they're not all similar. I've actually liked most of them, though the less we speak of the Lady in the Water, the better... Not bad, just somehow half arsed.
Personally, I liked Hot Fuzz more. Am not a big fan of zombie movies, and HF had a more satisfying ending. :) But then again it seems like you're not supposed to call a movie good just if you like it; it's supposed to be 'good' in some mystical way that only your friends, 'everybody', the critics or some higher power can decide.
Hah! If i like it, it is good! And if I build it, he will come!
Should probably eat something...
