Things that my new squee for Doctor Who and Torchwood has made me do:

- watch the episodes until my eyes bleeed. (well, not really, but it has a nice dramatic touch in it)
- realize that funny looking Scotsmen are kinda hot
- watch Casanova, those 5 mins of GoF with Barty Crouch jr., Blackpool and various interviews of David Tennant
- watch various interviews, musical clips and listen to lots of songs sung by John BarrowmanAlso, yes, I did order Shark Attack 3: the Megalodon...
- listen to Billie Piper sing. Also, she was in Calcium Kid! I thought I recognized those teeth...
- buy some (but not much!) junk. I didn't bid (after I was outbid) on the 10th Doctor or Captain Jack action figures on eBay... Doesn't mean I won't, but... The magazines I bought were actually entertaining! Notice how I'm not mentioning the fridge magnets...
- consider buying both seasons of the new Doctor Who on DVD.
- consider watching some of the older seasons of Who.
- consider traveling to Cardiff. Hey, I've never been there! I'd like to see all the... er... culture! *hides the binoculars*
- think about how neat it would be to make the closet door look like the door to Tardis! hey, all I need are some boards and blue paint! Yay!

And now that everyone's already skipped through this post thinking she's off on a tangent about some silly sci-fi thing again, I'll get to the point:

- I like to squee. It's fun, especially when you have someone to squee with.
- I tend to get depressed from time to time. Squeeing over fandom stuff works better on the depression than happy pills, even though it's just as addictive.
- am a sad, fat bastard. Without this kind of a life, I'd probably be a total loser. :D

Every now and then [livejournal.com profile] tvillingar rants about socially acceptable fan stuff, and I have to agree with her. It's cool if you love a football team, or have tickets for every single hockey game and wear your team jacket and team hat and team gloves and know every single team member since 1960 by name. It's totally lame to love a telly show, remember every episode, most of the characters and gather with friends to watch clips and stuff and wear your lovely knitted Slytherin scarf.

What the fuck ever. :D I mean, am not saying you can't be a sports fan (and I believe there's some wrestling/Buffy slash crossovers somewhere. weird!) or a whatever fan. Being a fan is fun (unless you're a fucking freak and do insane stuff like stalk your idol) and being a slash fanfic fun doesn't mean you just sit home and have no friends. Hey, I've made more friends through writing and reading slash these past ten years than in RL!

*cough*

Note to self: don't start ranting when you're about to go to bed. Not a good idea. Ever.

In conclusion: (Jensen!) Being a fan is good. eBay is evil. I got to rant and use the word fuck two times in this post! er... three times, actually. I just had cake! Should go to bed.

Well, if you DO go to Cardiff, you better send me a postcard while you're there. :D
Btw, I've been meaning to ask since summer, but always forgot - you did get my Italy postcard?

Shrek 3? I've seen the first one. It wasn't that bad, in fact, some of it was actually funny. :)

Also, step away from the paint before anyone gets hurt. :P
