OMG songfic
Sep. 10th, 2006 03:53 pmIt's always fun to find your inner teenager. :D I've been listening to James Blunt's (yeah, he with the sheep-like voice) No Bravery on repeat for some time now, all the while reading/polishing/writing my potterfic and am totally freaking myself out.
It's a good thing I'm really not insane enough to write a songfic. Otherwise, would be sorely tempted.
Look behind the cut
"No Bravery"
There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
Tears drying on their face.
He has been here.
Brothers lie in shallow graves.
Fathers lost without a trace.
A nation blind to their disgrace,
Since he's been here.
And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.
Houses burnt beyond repair.
The smell of death is in the air.
A woman weeping in despair says,
He has been here.
Tracer lighting up the sky.
It's another families' turn to die.
A child afraid to even cry out says,
He has been here.
And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.
There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
But no one asks the question why,
He has been here.
Old men kneel to accept their fate.
Wives and daughters cut and raped.
A generation drenched in hate.
Says, he has been here.
And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.
to read the lyrics...
No spoilers really, considering the fic is about war, but damn it! I find it easy to believe how people used to write so many fics called 'Possession' way back when.

Thank you
dlasta and
tvillingar for forcing me to watch SPN mvids, otherwise I wouldn't have stumbled into this little ditty.
