sua_layBeen having this weird urge to go totally stupid and rant about everything that annoys me from the world politics to simple annoyances in the fandoms.
Was going to just acknowledge the need to rant and move on. Then started to think about the whole thing and... Apologies in advance. If you like all things PC, do not read this; no effort was to make this coherent or pleasing, it's just
Things that really piss me off about RL:
1. The world politics right now. Not that this is a new thing, but anyway....
2. Burning mosques and/or painting swastikas on synagogues. Yes, the next time the US bombs someone, I'll go and torch a christian church, because hell yes, politics and religion are the same thing. And yes, I blame the whole country and all its citizens for the maniac on the top.

3. 'The way British military is involved in the Iraq thing, muslim extremists are provoked to acts of terrorism'. Bullshit! Nothing justifies killing of innocent civilians. Nothing! But then again it's not that long since it was okay to try the 'she wore a mini skirt so she asked to be raped' -defense...
4. Killing. Especially if it's christians or jews doing it. Hello, people! You set a bunch of rules forbidding that! What sort of hypocricy it is to go around and say you're a god fearing person, a true believer and then kill other people? It's not thou shalt not kill unless you feel like it. It's not a suggestion; it's a commandment.
5. Believing that you deserve everything from others. No you don't. I'm in no way responsible for taking care of you; you take care of yourself. Puppy dog eyes when you ask me to carry you/pay for everything won't help. I'll think you're a selfish bastard and drop you like a hot... actually anything that's hot enough.
6. Cruelty to animals, kids, elderly, gays, straights, fat, thin, tall, short, happy, sad, whatnot.
7. Going on a high horse over specific rights. Gay rights! Children's rights! Black rights! Some idiots actually think that in order for us to get the rights some other group has to pay. What it all comes to is human rights. The right to grow up in a safe place and then go on with your life without issues like gender, sexuality or politic beliefs giving anyone any right to mess with you.
Things that piss me off about fandom and LJ:
1. Stupid memes. For crying out loud, people! Who really wants to know what book you grab on your left and what's the seventh word on the whatever page? Announcing you're not pro rape isn't empowering anyone and it doesn't help, it's lip service. You want me to describe you with one word? Wanker.
2. People who whine, beg for money and use the FL as their personal therapy group. It's cool to talk about bad days and bad years and losing stuff and gaining a therapist/medication/300 pounds. That's life. It's not cool to whine about how poor you are when all your money went to booze and then do a huge drama queen thing and either tell everyone you'll leave for good or threathen to kill yourself.
3. BNFs. 'nuff said.
4. Oh No They Didn't. *grits teeth* Yes they did. Live with it. Mock all the anorexic blonds who try to live on their looks, but shut the fuck up about everyone else. Fugly's not a word.
5. Meta and discussion about 'why I like slash'. Especially if it's a pretentious pile of crap about women empowerment, sexual enlightenment and a show of the socioeconomic change where women have time and money for themselves. Most people read and write slash because it's fun and fandom circles will probably give you new friends. Stop being such twats about the thing! It's stupid!
6. Wangsty meta about whatever. Do I want to read seventy different 'this is my opinion on who will die in HP book 7 and see how I've spent hours on making deductions instead of writing slash because this is ubercool and slash is just pathetic'? No I don't. Just like I didn't really care who you thought would be the HBP.
7. Tinhats, tinkilts, tinwhatevers. You start believing in your fantasy and it's bye bye to sanity. And please don't bring OTP to this discussion, morons. Only wanting to read about one pairing isn't a bad thing. Wanting to poke eyes out of everyone who dares to suggest another pairing is.
8. Disappearing from the face of the earth without even saying bye. Yeah. Funny I should still be so mad about this... But if you tell your friends they're like a family to you and that they matter and then leave without a warning... *sigh* And yet, I feel more sorry for these people than angry, so let's drop this after all, k?
9. 'I used to read/write slash and fanfic but have now got over it and am all sneery at those who are still involved in such stupidity'. Up yours. You're no better than the rest of us pervs, you're just delusional.
Last but not least, what pisses me off is:
1. Waking up in the middle of the night and not falling asleep again. Then eating the rest of the mud cake and talking about stuff with your friend before having the urge to rant about idiocies in your LJ.
Feel free to throw rodden tomatoes at me. I probably deserve each and every one of them....

Am now wondering if I should have added 'remaking old movies/TV shows' to the list, but am actually curious about the new version of Miami Vice. Yeah, I know it's insane.
Also, should I risk it and actually go and see the new version of The Wicker Man when it hits the theatres?

....But I don't get why they're re-making all the really hard ones...the one's that are very connected to one specific time and place or just have this amazing feeling in them because of the actors chemistry or whatever.
