The latest West Wing totally broke my heart. Was really disappointed in Bartlet's reactions last week and now... Heartbreaking. Totally heartbreaking.

Loved the awkward phrases about the memorial service and the way Bartlet was somewhere far far away most of the time and then when there was audience he snapped into the jolly professor role without batting an eyelash and you could see he was breaking beneath it.

*hearts*

It was a great tribute to John Spencer. I can't imagine how hard it is to act something like that when a person you've known for almost a decade has really died and you deal with the character and your own loss. Am in awe.

I couldn't watch it...I saw Bartlet carrying in the casket, and I had to leave the room. I still remember picking up the newspaper and reading about John Spencer's death...Leo has always been one of my favorite characters, and while I have fallen out of the loop in recent episodes, I was devoted at the beginning. Spencer was incredible in his role...and the show, I think, will be slightly less now that he's not involved. Now, it won't stink or anything =), but things just won't be the same. I barely recovered when Sam left...

I cried through the whole beginning sequence. Very well done!

Seems like I really like the flawed but strong characters who have been through a lot but fight they way through. Stopped following TWW when Sorkin left (after 4th season), but did watch a few episodes for Leo. John Spencer made the character awesome!

Am really glad they gave him a proper funeral in the show and showed a lot of respect for the guy.
