Dec. 25th, 2005 11:12 pmSaw the Chronicles of Narnia: The lion, the witch and the wardrobe today.
- Mrs. McCreedy was so obviously Snape's mother!
- Qui-Gon Jinn guiding Godric Gryffindor, Rowena Ravenclaw, Salazar Slytherin and Helga Hufflepuff around Middle Earth. Ooops. Wrong movie.
- but yeah, thinking about all the similarities between fandoms pissed me off.
- I liked the way they portrayed the war and the Blitz and stuff.
- Mr. Tumnus was a cheeky little faun. I liked him a lot. The only problem I had with him was his sudden bout of regret that came only after he saw Aslan in the flames.
- Tilda Swinton as the Witch was a bit soulless. Okay, so the character is like that, but she looked like she was just waltzing through the part.
- loved the Beavers. Mr. Beaver was so obviously having an affair with the Badger and Mrs. Beaver was a doll. :X
- why didn't Father Christmas bring any pressies to the Beavers? That really pissed me off!
- I have to re read the book, but did Aslan really kill the Witch that mercilessly? Being a Jesus metaphor really makes the J-man look nasty.
- I wonder if I've just watched too many of these action packed fantasy flicks. This wasn't a bad movie, but it was too grown up for little kids and too kiddy movie for adults. Quite frankly, I liked the BBC production from the 80's better, and that had an overemoting Witch and a man and a woman in Beaver suits...
- that doesn't mean that I didn't like the movie. It just wasn't that memorable, and though will probably buy the DVD, will not go and see it again in the movies.
- Harry Gregson-Williams' music rocked!
- am I a bad person if I slash Peter and Edmund?
Lots of interesting movies coming up next year! Yay!
