Nov. 12th, 2005 01:42 amEw. Am really disappointed at HP: GoF soundtrack. I usually like Patrick Doyle's music and it fits Kenneth Branagh's movies well, but here his score really doesn't work, at least as a musical experience. Hopefully it'll sound better in the movie.
Can't believe I actually miss John William's recycled pompous tunes. Amazing! But his music was kind of right for the kiddie movies and his Window to the Past was perfect in PoA
The only song I really liked was 'Cedric' and we all know why an angst queen like me might like that. Actually, the theme from 'the Maze' through 'Voldemort' to 'Cedric' was pretty good. Yeah. Angst galore and so on.
*hides*
Back to the writing! I feel really energized and accomplished here!
[ETA: hmmm I wonder if having that said sad song on repeat and reading angsty stuff (one has written herself )out loud and then being all weepy would be considered insane in some societies...]

And I've always thought the Weird Sisters are... sisters! As in women. Will now go and lament my own stupidity.

Date: 2005-11-12 05:56 pm (UTC)I can't remember Doyle's other scores except Sense and Sensibility and Much Ado About Nothing which both I liked very, very much. I had high hopes for the GoF score and like you I hope it will work better in the film. And that the film won't be boring. That's actually my worst fear when it comes the film, but we'll see.
