Found this little gem yesterday and haven't been able to stop gawking:

“So you and Tony were childhood friends, how did you loose contact?” Gibbs asked he was re-assessing the woman. She maybe a potential alley.

My first thought was that this is someone who's not a native English speaker, or that this is her first fic. Still don't know about the first, but after checking out, realized that she's one of those authors who's written dozens of fics in lots of fandoms.

So please, use a beta. It's not anything to be ashamed of. Posting something like that however is.

What's worse is BETAS WHO DO NOT JUDGE OMG ARGH. If I read one more fic where a non-Pagan character or non-Lord-Byron character exclaims "Gods!" I will EXPLODE.

And that will be messy.

Yup. Read that one once in Due South fandom and almost flamed the author. There is such a thing as reaching and then there's just pure stupidity.

I classify it in the horror genre, myself. The pain. (http://www.liberated.org.uk/1051careless1.htm) You haven't read badfic before you've read the Castle Aaarrrgh cave sequence. Avon pines half-dead in a cave for... well, it feels like forever.
