Does anyone know if the director's cut of Alexander is actually worth buying? Any hot kissing/fondling/whatever there? Do we get to see Hephaistion finally wrap his thighs around big gay Al?

*is curious*

Seems that Kingdom of Heaven will be on DVD in October. Yay.

Fat chance. Not that I've seen the film but I doubt the extras would make any difference.

Also Kingdom of Heaven in October. Yay!

hi - my understanding of this is that there is LESS of the relationship in the director's cut than in the cinematic release - check out reviews (particularly I think in Empire, but don't sue me if i got the wrong mag!)

I have definately read that director cut downplays the relationship, in an attempt to make it more 'palatable' to the mainstream audience taht stayed away in droves at the cinema.

That's what I recall reading, too. I was quite disappointed, because I had been hoping (even if there never was a great chance for it) that Alexander's and Hephaistion's attraction to one and other would have manifested itself in some other way than them just staring soulfully in each other's eyes.

I've lost all my respect for Oliver Stone. :(

I just can't believe someone like Oliver Stone would be that cowardly!

Quote from empire (cos I'm that sad)

"The directors cut is 10 minutes shorter and, as is clear from the commentary, many of the changes have been made, not to indulge Stone's vision but to pander to the mainstream audience... some scenes are cut altogether (including romantic scenes between Colin Farell and Jared Leto)"

the theatrical cut will be available, and will be as seen on screen..
