sua_layJust listened to John Williams' soundtrack for Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith.
Ooookay.
The very disappointing thing was that there was nothing new. Not a thing. In TPM there was the very neato Duel of Fates theme and in AotC there was the love theme *cough* which was kinda *cough* a ripoff from *cough* other Williams' work but anyway...
Here, nothing. Not a thing that would catch your attention and make you go all shivery.
But!
After track 9 (Anakin vs. Obi-Wan), everything became... Nostalgic. No, there was nothing new, but there was that love theme again and then something from the duel and even Qui-Gon's funeral and gods, the Vader theme! The ending of the soundtrack binds episodes one and two to SW:ANH and that's where this soundtrack really shines.
Felt all shivery and even slightly (okay, really really slightly) *squee*. Am even contemplating actually going to see that movie in the theaters now, though it'll probably mostly annoy me.
Of course there'll be lots of bad slash written from the movie afterwards. Will probably be stupid enough to even read it, but that's the source for another rant...
