C is for Care

sua_layAnd now we enter the Insane Zone. Was speculating about the future of certain characters, and had an amusing thought about families and how some people really need there to be a heir to their name. This is the result.
This week's letter is C and it's for 'Care'.
Genre: FPS, Mpreg
Pairing: Ron/Draco (Harry Potter fandom in case someone doesn't know)
Draco huffed as he sat down, bracing himself with his hand against the backrest. "Merlin, I need to buy bigger shoes!"
"Are your feet sore again?" Seeing the nod, Ron knelt in front of Draco and started to unlace them. "Then new shoes it is." He removed the offending shoes slowly, and then took a hold of Draco's foot. "You want me to rub your feet?"
The only reply was an appreciative mumble.
Ron watched Draco close his eyes as his fingers started to move up and down on his instep. After three months of hearing complaints about various body parts being sore, he'd got good at the rubbing. This was his favorite; with the backrubs he couldn't see the ecstatic expression on Draco's face.
He didn't mind this. Once, a long time ago, the mere thought of sitting on the floor rubbing Draco Malfoy's feet would have made him laugh. It wasn't that ridiculous anymore.
Still quiet, Draco moved his hand slowly to his swollen belly. Ron smiled at that. Yeah, there were lots of things he would have called ridiculous once. Now it was simply life, his life that he enjoyed very much despite of the gentle teasing from his friends.
"I don't think your mother likes me."
That made Ron's hands still for a moment. Then he continued his rubbing. "She doesn't hate you." Ron knew it had taken her years, but eventually she'd stopped hating Draco.
One gray eye opened, the glare pure evil. "I didn't say she did. I said she doesn't like me." The sadness in his voice was a strange contrast to the look he gave to Ron.
"Yeah."
Draco sighed. "Do you think she'll dislike her as well?" His hand patted his belly a little.
"No!" Stopping the rub, Ron lifted his hand to join Draco's. "She will not dislike her own grandchild. Don't be silly."
That word usually gained him a poke in the ribs. Too content to move, Draco settled for glaring at him again.
"Do you honestly believe she will be all right with another Malfoy in the family? She had plenty to say about you and me living together. I don't want her to say things about my baby."
"Our baby," Ron corrected as always. "She'd better not say anything bad about her." It was funny how protective he could get every time they talked about the baby. "Or you."
The glare softened immediately. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure." Squeezing his fingers around Draco's hand, Ron nodded. "I don't care if our baby's a Malfoy or a Weasley. You're carrying her, so it's your decision." He was certain he would bring no more Weasleys to the world. Not that he really thought being pregnant was not manly or anything, but he didn't think he could handle it.
"Okay." Draco smiled, relaxing against the backrest.
Ron swallowed, but said nothing. After a moment, he pulled his hand away from Draco's belly and resumed the rubbing again.
Next week the letter will be R, and the genre will be RPF, human/animal friendship and death.
*insane laughter*

I liked the fact that the Weasly family was not that accepting of them either. So good.

Date: 2005-04-14 11:08 am (UTC)I was talking about the whole heir of Malfoy thing with my beta and we both agreed that sooner or later Draco would want a child to carry on the line. Since I really really want him with Ron, this was the only way.

At least I didn't write a long saga about these two.
