sua_layI read two SW:TPM fics last night. Yeah, I don't seem to learn the lesson. Note to self: stop reading the crap!
The thing is, I keep reading summaries that don't totally suck, and the eternal optimistic in me goes all meep. Then I read and go meep again, but for a different reason.
Anyway, the fics!
There was one AU and one canonish fic. The AU was way too AU for me, the guys didn't even look like Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon. Why make it an AU when it could have been an original fic? Also, it was strangely paced. For an original fic, it would have been all right. As a SW fic... Nah.
The canonish fic was totally idiotic. It was from Qui-Gon's POV, and apparently the great Jedi master is mentally equivalent to a four years old. Gods! Why the hell do people write fics like this? If you're young and want to write about people who use exclamation marks in thoughts, just write about someone young and stupid.
