I really wish i knew the secret to writing plot fics!

It's probably something sneaky! I mean, I started writing my fic thinking about two scenes. Two small scenes. Now two years and 2.2Megs later....

Or maybe it's simply.... I think about the canon, pick a moment in time and wonder what happens next. My weird imagination usually takes care of the rest. :D

Are there characters that you hate so much that you find yourself unable to write them fairly?

I haven't seen one yet. Some have come close, but somehoe I've managed to deal with total idiots like Herc and Duncan with some fairness.

Do I really hate any characters? I can't think of anyone I'd totally hate...

What do you do when canon sucks so much ass it should be illegal?

Usually ignore it. If someone dies or whatnot and it's really a cop out, I let my universe becoma an AR where that thing never happened.

Of course sometimes things happen in my fics because the canon is still going on...

Examples:

- I brought Marcus back in the B5 story (which is still unfinished I know and am really ashamed of it but promise will finish it some day) intentionally. I'd watched all the canon when I started to write the fic, so knew what I was dealing with.

- I started to write my Potterfic in 2002, way before OotP. Since I had my own ideas of the Order and needed Sirius in my fic, I just ignore everything canon beyond book 4. But that's only because I'd written so much before the canon changed...

Kink:

Not really. I mean there are some kinks I really don't get (scat anyone?), but if someone I owed a fic asked me to write about that, I'd probably at least try to. Would say EWWW but could probably scribble down something.

Idea:

I wonder if this is kinda kink/idea combined, but... I shall not write chan.

Pairing:

LOL There are loads of! I mean, I'm the OTP freak. If I see a couple, I can't write about the guys with anyone else (Snape/anyone but Harry and vice versa, Remus/anyone but Sirius and vice versa, Billy/anyone but Dom and so on). Strangely, I could still write 3somes, as long as the point is just to have sex.

I think I'll ask the question every author, published or not, finds most annoying. Where do you get your ideas?

I don't think that question is that annoying... :D

It depends. Sometimes I watch the show/movie or read the book and ideas just jump at me. Like in B5. I watched Sinclair stare at the shuttle carrying Garibaldi away before he went back in time, and I went all "Hmm, I wonder what would happen if Garibaldi followed him..." and the bunny was there.

Sometimes I go through something or see something happen in reality and the bunny's ready. That happened with the Potterfic (as you well know...:D). Went through some rough emotional crap and wondered how a character would cope. And see? There goes the bunny, hopping happily around... :D
