Fellowship of the Ring, extended version

I'm impressed as hell. Also, am puzzled.
Why on earth did they cut these things from the movie in the first place? So many scenes that brought depth to the whole tale.
The new scenes made the FotR so much darker. More angst. Gandalf angst, Frodo angst, Sam angst. Boromir angst. :D It was closer to the Tolkien's book, though. I liked it.
Could have skipped the Rosie -ogling. Come on, people. Sam may have had a crush on her in the movie (since she was never seen till the end of the goddamn book) but it's Frodo he loves. Also think the whole 'the wielder of a ring of power is always alone' crap is just Galadriel's way to justify the fact that she and Celeborn don't have that spark anymore. Frodo's not alone. He has Sam.
Sounds like I have some serious issues here. Yes, I do. LotR has always made me so mad, because of all the Sam stays, Frodo leaves, and poor little me cries her eyes out.
Heh. Loved the Gimli/Legolas interaction, though. The sweet smile on Legolas in the small boat was especially cute. :D Yay to Celeborn, too. He finally had more than two lines. Still think Haldir's a nancy git, though.
The added violence... Sorry to disappoint all peace lovers there, but they fit the story as well. Seeing Lurtz yank the dagger from his own thigh and then lick it clean was kinda... er... can I use the word arousing while talking about the Uruk-Hai??? Eww... I guess...
One month, three days. Gods, I want to see TTT. I want to see it now.
am definitely NOT thinking about the fact that after seeing that one, it'll be a whole damn YEAR till RotK
All hail Peter Jackson. Good work there!
