So I succumbed to the piracy as well. Am not even ashamed of it. Stupid Finnish movie system. You want me to wait till August? Hah, I say.

The file was crummy and it missed some spots ( I know there was supposed to be a scene where Harry got the Firebolt!] so am kind of waiting to see it again, with better picture. But this was better than nothing. Yes, it was.

Here's the

very random thoughts.

Was really disappointed at the pacing of the story. You really needed to know stuff from the books to follow the plot. Of course most of the people going to see the movies have read the book, but anyway...

The skinny legged werewolf looked silly. I liked Snuffles. Actually, I liked Sirius a LOT. His insane rage about being locked up was convincing. Wanted to huggle him. Pet him. Scritch his tummy even!

The old cast was cool. Dan Radcliffe can actually act. Hagrid had more depth. Alas Draco didn't. I was not at all pleased with what they had done with him. Instead of a malicious creep, they reduced him into a comic relief. Let's just call this the Gimli syndrome. Minerva was just as meowr as always. Gods I love that old bat!

Snape. He was kind of... weird. For Snape, that is. The scene with him telling Harry to open his book was pervy. Yes it was! Try to tell me it wasn't! Now try again without laughing! Was stunned of how bravely he stood facing the werewolf. Of course in the movie, they left the Shrieking Shack incident out, but anyway. The way he stood there and shielded Harry and the other two kids was just breathtaking. Liked his sarcasm as well.

The new Dumbledore looked like he was tripping. I think I'll have to think of mr. Harris when I think of old Dumbly. Sorry. This one just wasn't convincing. Remus on the other hand... I liked him. I really liked him. And yes, gods damn it! I did go all weepy when he embraced Sirius like a cousin. Er... Sorry. Wrong movie... Brother! Yes. Just brother!

[or like they were an old married couple]

Oh, and I really liked Trelawney's glasses. I was glad they'd reduced her part, but kept the most important. In that trance, she was absolutely terrifying.

Anyway... The pace of the story was annoying, and it lacked intensity. But it wasn't a bad movie per se. The kids had grown nicely. Am still convinced of the whole puppy love thing as well as the possibility of Snarry. Oh yes I am! Hope they use a slightly longer wig on Snape the next time. Also, the Weasley twins are breaking my heart.

And LOL! Arthur Weasley being serious! I was all flabbergasted! Shocked! Stunned!

Im sure I should say something coherent here now, but I can't really think of anything. It's almost 7.30 am, and I should... er... watch the ending again. Yes I should.

Okay... That was confusing...

Am now happy I won't have to fear for the worst anymore. When OotP came out, I was all ready to delete my fic, angry at so many things in book 5 canon. Took me months to go on with the writing. I was sure I'd have such a low time with writing again if this movie sucked. It didn't.

Will go and scribble down something now. Yes, I will.

There is chemistry isn't there *puurrrrrr*
and I can only agree with the list of things that annoyed you about the movie. They had one too many logic break that only prior having read the books made sense of.
I too would have liked some more real tormenting by Draco. Somehow all the movies leave out that he is actually described as rather intelligent, but malicious. He is not a comic relief. That is what Crabbe and Goyle are for. And even them... remembering being in school, I did not deem kids like those comic during my school years... more like .. terrifying. I wish they would take into account that what might seem funny to adults can be horror for kids. I am rambling, right?

Sure, you're rambling, but it was an excellent ramble! ;D

Well, it would have been cool if they'd had a few lines about the Marauders really being Sirius and the others. I was expecting that, actually, when Harry said the map was wrong that Sirius would say that it can't be wrong because we made it. Also, it would have brought more magic to the whole thing to actually say that James was an animagus.

I bet that in the next movie they'll babble about stuff the left out here and then the viewer will be even more confused...

I feel sorry for all the parents who went to the movies with their kids when they thought it was too scary. They must be all baffled now...

I'm still really pissed at the whole thing they did with Draco. It was a weird mix between spinelessness and flirting. The crane with the badly drawn insult? Please!

Anyway... Sirius! Remus! Sirius and Remus! Awww....
