I'm working on a fic where someone is obsessed with food, going a bit mental and stuffing his face all the time, hoarding food.

Now I wonder how Enid Blyton ever managed to write her Famous Five books. If the characters keep eating constantly, it means the author keeps thinking about food all the time.

All the damn time.

Thus far, I've managed to keep it with a cup of hot chocolate and some nectarine, but I think I'd better drop this part of the fic and work on the porn plot or something. Otherwise I'll end up raiding the fridge again.

I keep watching fics appear on the various lists I'm following, and they're all WIPs. Every single one of them. This is making me feel way old school. Not to mention just old.

Also, am slipping from my old rule of not reading WIPs. We all know how this will end, right? Yeah, with me whining and complaining and ranting. I bet you're all looking forward to it...

I'm the same way with WIPs - I swear not to read them but once in a while I get sucked in and I end up feeling cheated if it doesn't get finished or too frustrated at having to wait.

Yesterday I had the pleasure to read in somebody's journal comments how frustrating the 'young ones' were and how old school fans were so different, blah blah.
...and by old school she meant Lotr rps.

The worst thing is that the fandom and the pairing is kinda small... Well, at least the pairing, and if I start reading more than one WIP, I'll start mixing up the stories pretty soon. After a while, the stories just don't make any sense, and I end up reading through everything again.

It'd help if I knew they're at least going to finish the stories. But all these 'hey coughed up a chapter and will now go and play and will maybe think of something to write later on' -stories just piss me off.
