*hyperventilates*

OMG Going to watch OotP was such a mistake. I was intrigued by the movie 'cause still haven't read the book, but dear gods the ending broke my heart. Shattered. It wasn't just the way Sirius died, it was the way he called Harry James just before it, and the way Remus held onto Harry afterwards.

It wasn't exactly the end of RotK, but I still cried so hard my head hurts even now.

:(

But as always in this fandom, things went lalalalala afterwards, with nice teenager resilience that makes traumatized kids bounce right back like rubber balls. I hate, hate it.

*sigh*

There is also much hate towards James now, and much love towards Snape. Someone had written on the movie theatre loo wall 'Snape, Snape, Severus Snape...' which made the song play in my head...

The sad thing about the whole thing is that the magic (*cough*) has totally disappeared from a fandom I used to love. Or actually the canon of said fandom. It's disappointing. [livejournal.com profile] tvillingar, I totally agree with you on laying off WIPs from now on. Also, thank you for listening to me go all gaga after the movie. Just knowing I could rant later on (probably won't, but who knows) helped.

Will not lj cut this or anything, 'cause if you consider OotP babbling spoilery, you gotta be kidding me. So there.

Yay for HP spoilers that don't make me want to maim the person. :D It's refreshing to see someone talk about the movie instead of the latest book.

That's one of the scenes I really want to see. Well, the whole Sirius dying and people reacting to it thing. In the book it was pretty much an anticlimax and only the aftermath managed to make me feel anything. I have a feeling it's going to be different in the film.

As for hating James and feeling for Snape... hell yes. After reading OotP I had serious difficulties with understanding how people could love James so much when he did what he did. Bastard. No, I'm not partial at all. ;) The underpants scene (or if it even exists in the movie -- don't tell me if it does or doesn't) is also something I've been wanting to see for ages. I want to see how different it is from how I see it, or how similar.

And the OotP and spoilers thing -- I don't mind people telling me that Sirius is going to die in book five, because it's obviously old news and everyone who cares either way knows about it already. So yeah, it is kind of silly to be all omg! spoilers! about a book that's been out for years. :) For me, the problem with spoilers about the movie is the choice of scenes. I do not want to know what they've picked, how they've done them, and especially how the writers and directors and whatnot have twisted the dialogue and other details. Because in all honesty, the book and the movie are two different things despite having the same major points, and it's those differences that I don't want to hear about until I can see them for myself. That's what's spoilery to me.

Aaaand after this long explanation, I'm just going to say that there's nothing wrong with your post and you haven't done the thing that usually annoys me about book-to-movie spoilers. :D I just felt like explaining it a bit, because your comment made me think about it, and I sometimes wonder if people share this attitude.

Well, since I haven't read the 7th book (well... not completely anyway) and never really intend to, I don't care about the spoilers. :D But since it would be awful to be spoiled about something one cares I do understand why some people are paranoid about the whole thing.

I've never read the 5th book due to my own fic writing (and not caring about the canon past GoF), so some of the things in OotP came as a surprise. Of course I know the basics, but was really surprised by the fact that it didn't really have much of a plot. As in whoo let's find the philosopher's stone or ooo basilisks or whatnot. Just another year at Hogwarts.... And of course the thing with Sirius and Voldie and... :)

Somehow the whole issue with Sirius was well thought of, and I for one was devastated even before the ending. All the hugging and 'you're the only family I've got left' made me weepy and then... Well, like I said. Went totally nuts.

Since I haven't read the book, couldn't speculate on how the movie follows it even if you wanted me to. But since the book is like gazillion pages long, I can imagine they cut a lot. The movie worked to me, and will now go swim in that river in Egypt and imagine Sirius with his Remus and their puppies.

*insane*

Have fun reading DH. Will be interesting to read your thoughts after you finish. *hints*
