Television ate my brain
Nov. 21st, 2006 12:50 pmOr maybe it didn't. For some weird reason I haven't watched much telly lately. All those lovely series I used to watch every week... Yeah, I still tape them, but....
Detailed ramblings here ('cause I'm so damn interesting!):
CSI So yeah, I have problems with will they won't they will they... and then *boom*, Houston, we have a relationship. Can still remember the moment of dismay when I watched season 6 finale and there was Grissom in a bathing robe, talking about relationship stuff. Gross.
That said, I haven't really watched CSI this season. Fast forwarded that one episode so that I could see Greg's meltdown, but that's about it. Have the feeling the shark is really happy that the jumper didn't hit him...
CSI NY So yeah, maybe the whole Sara/Grissom was boring as hell, but at least that wasn't a total surprise. Showing Mac in bed with a woman was stupid. Where the hell is subtlety these days? Maybe am biased (hey I'm a slasher! I'm allowed to be!) but the regular CSI kinda freaked me out and I probably can't see NY without thinking it'll be total crap either.
That said, I haven't watched a single episode this season. But yeah yeah, they're all on tape, so....
House So House survived the whole shooting thing and had his leg back for a few weeks and is back to his cranky self? And he's still being an evil genious? And he's having problems with some cop and is also having (not the sexual kind of, I've heard) tension with Wilson?
Please!
I'll probably sit down and watch half the season in a row one of these nights, but haven't really watched any of the eps yet.
Justice Another law firm show with cute actors and mediocre plot. Oh, how I wished there had been something more dignifying for Victor Garber, who is a wonderful actor. Alas, the stories really were so cliched that they axed the show. Alas I haven't found any good fic from the show.
And surprisingly enough, watched like the 4 first eps and then... All on tape... yada yada....
NCIS My bias is showing, but good GODS! Cut it with the romance stuff already people! 3 seasons of quirky silly humor and now they try to sell us the show by hinting not so subtly about... yes, you guessed it: romance!
*headdesk*
La la la... haven't watched any episodes.... all on tape... am a broken record....
Nip/Tuck Will they? Won't they? Will they? Won't they? Will... Oh who the hell cares anymore???
So yeah, maybe Christian loves Sean but is it love or love? And then there's the baby. And the new woman in Christian's life. And yeah, that dream of the gay resort thing with Sean's hairy chest... And then we have... nothing. Come on already!
Actually watched couple of the episodes before they dropped the gay plotline and made us watch people have sex in front of Larry Hagman. *shivers*
SGA After watching McKay and Mrs. Miller, was so disgusted by the funny funny way everyone treated McKay that I actually understood what drives people to write all those crappy 'he was treated badly and then everyone else realized they were assholes and went to make it all up to Rodney/DiNozzo/Daniel or other mistreated characters' fics. Also, nanites? Weir centric crap?
Was so icked by the show I kind of missed one episode. Will go and watch it now. Ta. No, wait! Looks familiar. Yeah, I've watched this already but it didn't really register, because it was so lame.
*sad*
Supernatural So it's amazing how one of the best shows on telly seems to have a two dollar budget (from which they use at least half to pay for the use of all that cool music). The continuity is great and the characters work. I also love the suspense that's always there, but doesn't seem like the writers are just trying to be cute. *cough* J.J. Abrams *cough*
So yeah, it's slashy in the wincest way, but it's also what the official taglines say; it's actually scary. So yeah. This one I'll keep. *smooches*
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip This is more like it! Good cast, good characters and Sorkinisms! It actually makes more sense if you watch a few episodes in a row, but who can wait?
Also, I'm having fun watching Brad Whitford be so confident doing those walking around and sprouting dialogue scenes. :D After all his years in the West Wing, he's a pro...
Am so very happy they didn't axe this. Good, intelligent telly show!
Torchwood Hadn't watched Who, ever, and then Dlasta went all meep about Torchwood and I was sold. Yeah, a long story short.
But! I like the darkness and the dialogue in Torchwood, but the queerness that seems to make everyone so happy is actually annoying me at times. I like queer, but not if it's just there to show everyone how hip and cool this new show is. Surprisingly enough, the best episode to date had no gayness in it (this would be Small Worlds).
Anyway, I like the cast (even though if Ianto blubbers one more time I'll write him a death scene) and the idea. Will definitely continue watching...
Okay, though it's not really on (until December 25!), I'll have to mention Doctor Who This show hit me like a ton of bricks. Yeah... Stop laughing! The cast is great, (hey, I adore Jackie!) and the stories may sometimes be a little weird, but the continuity works as does the revival thing where you do a new thing but bring stuff from the past here as well.
*fangirls*
Okay, now I'm totally bored. Should go and buy myself some chocolate... Ooh, such a good plan...
