Yeah, so NCIS is a crappy show I'm fixating on, but even crappy slightly slashy series can have incredibly good episodes.
1x15 Enigma with Terry O'Quinn as a guest star. Incredible episode with much slahsiness, a background story that is way beyond subtext (the whole bond between the Colonel and the dead Lieutenant in case you're wondering and have actually watched the episode) and actual good acting from my 'guilty pleasure' cutey guy Mark Harmon.
Surprisingly enough, I haven't read any slash story that has this as a basis; explaining why Gibbs can't risk getting involved with someone he works with, maybe dealing with how Gibbs can't judge gays 'cause he's watched a loving relationship too close...

Then again, there aren't all that many good stories in this fandom. You think I'm just being the bitch again and dissing other peoples' stories? Okay. Go to NCIS archive and find me two good first time Gibbs/DiNozzo stories! I dare you!
