Posted my drabbles at [livejournal.com profile] monaboyd, just for the hell of it. Was totally surprised to have a few 'OMGs'. No, my ficlet wasn't really 'teh best evah'. It was nice to hear that people liked it, but I'm slightly dismayed by the exaggeration.

About receiving feedback... I ranted a lot about sending it, but so few people ever talk about getting fb.

Yeah, it's a rush. Even when you know the person squeeing over your silly ficlet squees over every damn crappy snippet posted ever, it's a rush.

I usually try to respond to fb, and in LJ it's really easy. Sometimes I realize I haven't answered emails for weeks and feel like a twat when I send a reply to fb I received last month. But I still think the sender will appreciate it.

Not that I get much fb these days. :D

Maybe that's the thing with the instant fics and WIPs that have invaded the net. People want to know their fics are good. They need the OMGs to spur them on. I get that! I do it myself to my friends, babbling about the damn fic until people want to kill me. Yeah, I know you do, dear ones. No need to try to hide it.

I don't really mind WIPs as long as I know they'll be finished. Won't post anything as a WIP myself 'cause I know where that will lead *hides some of her space slash in shame*. The thing I hate is when the author shamelessly begs or blackmails you to send fb. 'Tell me this was the best fic! Please!' or 'If I get enough fb, I might even finish the fic' make me see red!

/rant

I think I'll go and bake something. All this raving and ranting has made me hungry.
